This qualitative methodological course has 3 parts. In part 1, the epistemological and ontological foundations of qualitative inquiry are discussed; in part 2, the many different traditions of discourse analysis are outlined; and in part 3, a specific form of discourse analysis -theme-oriented discourse analysis, supplemented by activity and account analysis – is outlined and engaged with through group work.
