The role of translation in (re)shaping literary, cultural and national identities

Focus: Literature and Culture

The course will focus on the role played by literary translation in the shaping of national canons, of patterns of cultural exchange, as well as on the standards of literature as an art form. We will work with both Brazilian and foreign case studies to exemplify the theoretical framework of the field of Translation Studies.
