1- different type of problematic soil; 2- site investigation and in-situ testing (SPT, VST, CPTu, DMT, PMT); 3- shallow improvement methods (e.g. shallow compaction, light weight fills, physio-chemical treatment, heat and electrical improvement); 4- Hydraulic modification (gravity wells, sand and wick-sand drains, PVDs); 5- deep improvement (vibro-flotation, stone columns- GECs- piled embankment- deep soil mixing-grouting)
