The course aims to provide the chemical basis for the construction and application of nanobiomaterials, while understanding biological/pathological concepts to be addressed by nanomedicines. The course covers topics related to the preparation, characterization and application of nanomaterials, including self-assembled nanostructures, nanoparticles, supramolecular devices, polymeric micelles, among others. It also includes discussion on drug-delivery systems for cancer treatment, nanostructures for diagnosis imaging, integration of biological and engineering aspects of nanobiomaterials, and future perspectives of nanomedicines.
