Focus: Linguistics
This course addresses language attitudes (the evaluative reactions by which individuals associate particular language varieties with particular values), language ideologies (the interpretive filter through which people view, explain, and understand the relationship between language and society), and their potential connection and implications for different areas in society, such as work and education environments.
