Focus: Afro-Brazilian Literature
This course reflects on Afro-Brazilian literature of the 19th century, focusing on two authors: Machado de Assis and Maria Firmina dos Reis. Moreover, it investigates why Afro-Brazilian literature in the 19th century was silenced throughout the history in Brazil.
