Graduated in Civil Engineering from UFJF in 1998, Master and Doctor in Geotechnics from COPPE-UFRJ in 2001 and 2007, respectively. He worked in an engineering company from 2000 to 2002 and from 2007 to 2009, having experience in consulting and projects in geotechnics. In the period from 2009 to 2015 he did postdoctoral work at COPPE / UFRJ. In 2008 he won the Dirceu de Alencar Velloso award and in 2018 he won the Mokshagundam Vivesvaraya award, granted by ICE (United Kingdom Institute of Civil Engineers). In 2021 he won the Telford Premium Prize, also awarded by ICE (United Kingdom Institute of Civil Engineers). He has been a professor at UFJF since 2015, serving as a permanent professor at PEC / UFJF (UFJF’s graduate program in civil engineering). He has been developing research work in the area of geotechnics with an emphasis on soft soil improvement, numerical analysis, geosynthetics, containments and environmental geotechnics.
