Full Professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Civil Engineering at UFJF between 2019 and 2023. Modal Analysis, Vibration Control; Structural Monitoring – SHM; Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing applied to the analysis of structures. Degree in Civil Engineering from UFJF (1994), Master’s (1996) and Doctorate (2000) in Civil Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ. Between 2001 and 2002 he did a Post-Doctorate at the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (LCPC, current Université Gustave Eiffel) in Paris with the theme: Structural Dynamic Identification. Visiting professor at the following universities: Université de Cergy-Pontoise (France) 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013; Politecno di Milano (Italy) 2016; Université Paris Nanterre (France) 2017. Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina) 2023. Journal Editor: Structural Engineering International (SEI) – IABSE Journal – since 2015. Permanent Member of the Scientific Committee of EVACES (Experimental Vibration Analysis for Civil Engineering Structures) . He is a CNPq level II productivity fellow in the Civil Engineering Committee.
