The launch of the book “Células & Microscopia: Princípios e Práticas“, written by Dr. Rossana Melo from the Laboratory of Cell Biology (LBC) occurred on April 6 of this year, at a ceremony held at the UFJF Science Center. This second edition, according to the author, “maintains the central idea of exploring the cellular universe through innumerable micrographs and illustrations associated with a clear and updated text.” In this richly and beautifully illustrated book, cellular events are explained on the basis of electron micrographs that reveal the behavior of the cell in health and disease situations, with images present both in the course of its pages and so many others present in an exclusive digital media of this book .
Professor Rossana tells what generated her worldwide fascination with the microscopic world, and wants to encourage the same experiences she has undergone, arousing the passion for science.
The event’s official table was attended by important members such as the Secretary of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education (MEC), Paulo Barone, the president of the Brazilian Society of Microscopy and Microanalysis, Daniel Baptista and Guillermo Solórzano, member of the Microscopy Society of America (MSA), which reinforced the author’s trajectory as a teacher, as well as the importance of the interest in science and the book Cells and Microscopy.
