LINFE aims to understand the organization methods and the operation of educational institutions, as well as how the mediations that get implemented impact different areas in the experience of childhood, in and out of school: children’s development, social relations, their affections and their own way of attributing sense to the world.

Research Group LEPs – Language, Education and Social Practices

The group’s researches bring results that act directly on the initial and continuous training of teachers, on the reflection about practices in Portuguese Language teaching in basic schools – related to the learning of textual genres -, on the teaching-learning process, on didactic models, from the theoretical-methodological assumption of Sociodiscursive Interactionism (ISD).

Research Group ISE – Interaction, Society and Education

Leaders: Prof Andreia Garcia-Reis/ Prof. Alexandre Cadilhe

The ISE group acts on the language and education areas, offering two fields of research: Language and Teacher Training and Language, Human Rights and Diversity, developing actions on research projects, extension courses and events, focused on the initial and continuous training of teachers, especially on issues addressed to those fields.
