Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biology at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and a researcher at the UFJF Laboratory of Cell Biology. He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from UFJF, where he also earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in Ecology. He completed postdoctoral training in Microscopy, Cell Biology, and Cell Ecology, supported by FAPEMIG, the Lemann Foundation, the Lemann Harvard Brazil Research Fund, and CNPq, respectively. He has expertise in advanced microscopy techniques, including electron microscopy, whole slide imaging, digital histopathology, and imaging analysis. His research focuses on the interface between Cell Biology and Ecology, aiming to understand how cells respond, interact, and adapt to different conditions within their microenvironments. He also contributes to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses in Cell Biology and Biodiversity and supervising students at both levels. His main research interests include immune cell ecology, cellular interactions at the parasite–host–microenvironment interface, and cellular mechanisms in microorganisms, with implications for health, infectious diseases, and ecological processes.
