Giselle Santos Magalhães

Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University Center of Belo Horizonte (Uni-BH, 2012). PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, 2016), where she was honored with the UFMG Thesis Award. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) at UFMG (2017) and in Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Minas Gerais (2017–2022).

She served as a Junior Researcher at the René Rachou Institute – Fiocruz Minas (2022). Between 2023 and 2024, she was a researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in Spain, funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU through a María Zambrano fellowship.

Currently, she is a recipient of the CNPq Talent Attraction and Retention Program, working as a researcher at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). She coordinates the outreach project “Primeiro Olhar para a Ciência” (A First Look at Science) and, since 2017, has been involved in national and international activities dedicated to the popularization of scientific knowledge.
