A collaboration between Professor Rossana Melo and a research group from the University of Pennsylvania in a paper focused on new aspects of the eosinophil developmental biology had an electron microscopic image chosen as a cover image.
This paper discusses the role of the Trib1 gene in the maturation and development of eosinophils, taking into account that this is an important gene involved in the regulation of granulocytes, cells from the immune system, including eosinophils and neutrophils that are vital for host defense yet contribute to the pathogenesis of many atopic and inflammatory conditions.
