LBC’s junior research fellow receives award at the 23th SEMIC of UFJF

noticia-site-400The UFJF’s Junior Research Seminar (SEMIC) of UFJF is an annual event with the purpose of disseminating the results of the junior research work developed at the university.

In the first stage the students had to present their works in video format, in order to facilitate public access to what is being produced in the institution. All the videos of the junior research students of the Laboratory of Cellular Biology (LBC) can be seen here. The major works of each of the three fields (Biological and Health Sciences, Exact Sciences and Engineering, Humanities and Linguistics) were selected to be presented orally to a examining board, who chose two of each field to be awarded.

On the 23th SEMIC, of 2017, the work of Vitor Neves from LBC, entitled “Ultrastructural study of vesicular trafficof immune mediators in human eosinophils”, guided by professor Dr. Rossana Melo was one of the two winning works in the Biological and Health Sciences. Where the integrity of typical vesicles from human eosinophils after cell death was studied by transmission electron microscopy.
