Professor Admir Antonio Betarelli Junior, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

He has a degree in Economics from the Methodist University of Piracicaba (2005), Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2007) and PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2013) with a PhD-sandwich at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2011-2012). He is currently an associate professor of the School of Economics at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, a collaborator of Applied Economics in the Graduate Program of UFJF and Contributor of the Economic Climate and Markets Consulting (junior company), coordinating the “Sector Analysis” department. He has experience in economics, with an emphasis on Regional Economy and Methods and Mathematical Models, studying the following topics: Regional and Urban Economics, the Input-Output Model, the General Computable Balance Model, Multivariate Analysis and Transport Economics.

Professor Cláudio R. Foffano Vasconcelos, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa (1992) and PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2000). He is currently a professor of the Economics department and in the Graduate Program of Applied Economics – PPGEA FE/UFJF. He has a central interest in research topics in International Economics.

Professor Eduardo Gonçalves, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

PhD in Regional and Urban Economics (2007) and Master’s Degree in Economics (1998) from CEDEPLAR/UFMG. Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1995). He has been a professor of Economics at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) since 2000, being responsible for the courses History of Economic Thought I and II and Economics of Technology. In the Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, he teaches Economics of Technology. He does research on Economics of Technology and Regional and Urban Economics.

Professor Eduardo Simões de Almeida, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

He has a BSc, an MSc and a PhD in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP). He was a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois and a visiting professor in the Department of Economics at the Luiz de Queiroz Agriculture College, ESALQ/USP. He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). He has been a professor of the permanent staff of the Graduate Program in Economics of UFJF since 2006, teaching Spatial Econometrics. He is the representative of the field of Economics in the Applied Science Advisory Board (CSA) of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Minas Gerais (Fapemig). The unifying theme of his work focuses on the investigation of the role of space in regional economic growth and the evaluation of public policies, with special attention to the development of studies on spatial econometrics.

Professor Fernanda Finotti Cordeiro, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

She has degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1995), Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1999), Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of São Paulo (2004), with Doctoral Internship in the University of Illinois (USA) and Post-doctorate at Columbia University. She is currently an associate professor at the School of Economics, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, and Applied Economics in the Graduate Program of UFJF and a coordinator of the Economic Climate and Markets Consulting (junior company). (CMC Jr.). Executive director of the Teaching, Research and Extension Development Support Foundation, UFJF – 2009 and 2011. Researcher of the field of finance, studying the following topics: capital structure/financing companies, valuation and corporate risk. Director of the Brazilian Society of Finance – 2011-2012 and 2013-2014. Member of the Scientific Committee of Finance ENANPAD Division – 2009-2010 and 2011-2012. Coordinator of the Corporate Finance Department of ENANPAD – 2005-2006 and 2007-2008. Associate editor of the Journal of Accounting and Finance. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Journal of Finance.

Professor Fernando Salgueiro Perobelli, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1992), Master’s Degree in Economics from the Federal Fluminense University (1995) and PhD in Economics from the University of São Paulo (2004). He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and researcher at the Territorial Analysis Laboratory and Sector (LATTES/UFJF). He has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on Regional Economics, studying the following topics: regional development, input-output, computable general equilibrium models and sectoral analysis (energy, transport, health and services). He was the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Economics (MSc/PhD) UFJF between 2006-2011, President of the Association of Regional and Urban Studies between 2011 and 2012, and Pro-dean of the Postgraduate Program of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora between 2011 and 2012.

Professor Flávia Lúcia Chein Feres, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

She holds a PhD in Economics from CEDEPLAR/UFMG, having undergone a PhD-sandwich at the Department of Economics of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio. She has worked in regional policies and planning to generate employment and income. She was an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics of the Federal University of Minas Gerais and CEDEPLAR/UFMG. She is currently Associate Professor at the School of Economics-UFJF and permanent member of the Graduate Program in Economics-UFJF, where she carries out research in the area of ​​economic development, policy evaluation and applied microeconomics (with a focus on the labor market, health and education). She is the leader of the research group Interinstitutional Center for Studies on Labor and Social Economy (Núcleo Interinstitucional de Estudos em Trabalho e Economia Social, NIETES), CNPq.

Professor Flaviane Souza Santiago, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the State University of Montes Claros (2006), Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2009) and PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2014), having undergone a PhD-sandwich at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2012-2013). She is currently a professor of the Economics Department and in the Graduate Program of Applied Economics – PPGEA FE/UFJF. She has experience in applied economics, mainly on the following topics: input-output models, computable general equilibrium (EGC) models, microeconometrics, population aging and health economics.

Professor José Simão Filho, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economic Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1992), Master’s Degree in Economics from the Federal Fluminense University (2000), Doctorate in economics from the Federal Fluminense University (2007) and Post-doctorate in economics from UFJF. He has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on monetary and financial theory.

Professor Laura de Carvalho Schiavon, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Laura de Carvalho Schiavon is a Professor in the Departament of Economics at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2017. She was a visiting researcher at the University of California – Berkeley from September 2014 to May 2015. Her research focuses on the impact evaluation of public policies aimed to reduce crime, promote gender equality, and improve the quality and efficiency of public services.

Professor Marcel de Toledo Vieira, PhD (ICE/UFJF)

PhD in Statistics from the University of Southampton (2005), Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Methods of Decision Support) from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), and graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora ( 1997). He is currently an associate professor II in the Statistics Department, Coordinator of the Bachelor Degree in Statistics and Member of the Standing Body of the Graduate Program (Master’s and PhD) in Applied Economics, School of Economics, Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI, 2013 -), member of the Scientific Programme Committee of the ISI for the 61th World Statistics Congress (2015-2017), Member of the Advisory Committee on Board Sampling Basic Education Evaluation of the National Institute of Educational studies and Research (INEP, 2015 -). He has experience in methods and Mathematical Models, Econometric and Statisticians, studying the following topics: sampling, analysis and modeling of complex sample longitudinal data, estimation of variance, evaluation of public policies and tests to evaluate the quality of the adjustment of longitudinal models.

Professor Rafael Morais de Souza, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics and Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, both from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering (Decision Support Methods) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2013). He is currently a professor of the Economics Department and in the Graduate Program of Applied Economics – PPGEA FE/UFJF. He has a central interest in econometrics and time series analysis.

Professor Ricardo da Silva Freguglia, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

He holds a Doctorate in Economic Theory from the University of São Paulo (2007) with doctoral internship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Federal Fluminense University (2000) and a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1994). As associate professor at the School of Economics, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, he carries out work in the areas of Labour Economics, Economics of Education, Public and Applied Microeconomics Policy Evaluation, working with the following themes: inequality, migration and education. He is currently the coordinator of the Graduate Program in Economics (PPGE-UFJF). He also acts as a coordinator of UFJF’s Economic Studies Laboratory (Laboratório de Estudos Econômicos, ECONS) and is a leader of the research group Interinstitutional Center for Studies on Work and Social Economy (Núcleo Interinstitucional de Estudos em Trabalho e Economia Social, NIETES), CNPq.

Professor Rogério Silva de Mattos, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Doctor of Methods Decision Support (2000) and MA in Economics (1989), both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1984). He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on mathematical, econometric and statistical methods and models, working with the following topics: time series econometrics, input-output models, data analysis and simulation.

Professor Rosa Livia Gonçalves Montenegro, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

She holds a PhD in Economics from Center of Development and Regional Planning at Federal University of Minas Gerais (CEDEPLAR/UFMG), having undergone a PhD-sandwich at the Department of Economics of University of Bologna (UniBo), Italy. Graduated in Economics from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2008). She is currently a professor of the Economics Department and in the Graduate Program of Applied Economics – PPGEA FE/UFJF. She is a researcher at Laboratory of Territorial and Sectoral Analysis (LATES at PPGEA FE/UFJF) (2014 – actually). She has interest in research topics with focus on Regional and Urban Economics; Economics of Technology; R&D and Innovation; Environmental and Green technologies; Firm and Industry Dynamics; Emerging economies; Innovation and Technological Change.

Professor Sidney Martins Caetano, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

He holds a doctorate in Economics from the Graduate Program in Economics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – PPGE/UFRGS (2007). Currently associate professor I of the School of Economics and Finance at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF-MG) and Professor/Supervisor of the Graduate Program in Economics UFJF – Master’s and Doctorate. He was professor at UFSJ and at UFV, Economic Advisor to FEDERASUL-RS, Economic Advisor at ACPA-RS and coordinator of research projects funded by CNPq and Fapemig. He has experience in economics, with an emphasis in Quantitative Methods in Economics, working mainly in Applied Macroeconomics. Areas of interest: monetary and fiscal economy; economic fluctuations through RBC/DSGE models; Bayesian macroeconometrics.

Professor Silvinha Vasconcelos, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1990), Master’s Degree in Rural Economics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1995) and PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2001). She worked in the Department of Economics and Administration of the Federal University of Rio Grande (RS) from 1994 to 2006 and is currently an associate professor at the School of Economics, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, working in the Graduate Program in Economics, and has been a professor since 2007 and a was a coordinator from 2011 to 2015. She has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on Industrial Organization and Industrial Studies, and conducts research for the study of antitrust and game theory applied to the nature of competition in selected markets.

Professor Suzana Quinet A. Bastos, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1981), specialization in Industrial Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1983), Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000) and PhD in Urban and Regional planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). She is currently an associate professor III of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and a professor in the Graduate Program in Applied Economics at UFJF. She has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on Economic Development, studying the following topics: Regional and Urban Economics, Local Economic Development, Service Economy, Healthcare Economics, Cities Network, Local Productive Arrangements, Minas Gerais, the Zona da Mata and Juiz de Fora.

Professor Weslem Rodrigues Faria, PhD (School of Economics/UFJF)

Graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2006), Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2009) and PhD in Economic Theory from the University of São Paulo (IPE/USP). He has experience in methods and Mathematical Models, Econometric and Statisticians, acting mainly on the following topics: sampling, general equilibrium models, input-output, inter-regional model, requirement coefficient, international commerce and Brazilian economy.
