The Course:
The activities are divided into lectures, practical classes and seminars. The faculty has TV and radio studios, photography and hypermedia laboratories, along with a computerized editorial room, where several projects are developed. The course seeks a balance between the humanistic education in the fields of Social Sciences, Literature, History and Theory of Communication and specific training in the field of Communications with subjects designed to awaken the critical, technical and creative skills for the professional future. In vocational training, there is focus in oral and written expressive and interpretive skills. That happens through the teaching of technical resources employed in processes and practices of communication and the use of language corresponding to major technical and production media. In addition, the course offers the opportunity for students to perform curricular and extracurricular activities related to the professional field in spaces such as the Multimeios Production Company, the Acesso Junior Company and the Facom Radio, among others.
Professional prospects:
The journalist may act in many different means of communication, such as newspapers, on-line portals, radio and TV stations, as well as press offices and communication agencies. Corporate communication also offers good job opportunities. As a news professional, the journalist defines, searches, investigates and disseminates facts and information of public and collective interest. Their duties involve writing and editing of reports, interviews and articles, adapting the approach and the language of the texts to the media and the intended audience. With the virtual world, the bachelor must master the language of the Internet and of social networks.
