  1. SOCIAL POLICIES AND PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

This area of study is aimed at deepening the analysis of social policies, highlighting their characteristics in Brazilian society and regionalization processes. It also includes the management of public social activities, their evaluation processes and monitoring instruments and indicators.

In it one can find studies on social policies and management processes in the public sphere, as well as studies on social subjects involved there and their different modes of organization and expression in the public sphere.

This area of study is referenced in a matrix-oriented equity, as well as social justice and democracy in an orientation of universalization and deepening of rights.

 

  1. SOCIAL SERVICES AND SOCIAL SUBJECTS

This area focuses on studies on social work and professional intervention of the social worker, especially in the public sphere. This area of study aims at training and the professional practice, its meaning, skills, duties, and demands of social subjects, expressed through their organizations and forms of struggle.

It also has in its central theme the study of the regional reality, from the emphasis on the understanding of the peculiarities of territory-mediated professional work, both in regard to social and occupational areas of the profession, and the constitution of social subjects.

Among all the demands presented to the professional work, the sphere of public and private policies acquires relevance for being the basis of professional work with the demands of the social organizations of the lower classes.
