Internationalization

To encourage the internationalization process, which has intensified over the last few years, the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – PPGH/UFJF) has sought to consolidate a series of initiatives with the objective of establishing and expanding partnerships.

Internationalization is thus understood as a means to achieve the ultimate aim, which is to contribute to overcoming the global challenges of the twenty-first century through international engagement with these fields of human knowledge.

They must be able to expand internationalization activities and facilitate scientific and technological exchange as well as participate in research networks, primarily those that are international.

A program that seeks to promote the internationalization of UFJF’s curriculum through the “Academic English Immersion Program” at Temple University.
  • Joint Supervision Agreements
Joint supervision refers to a double degree agreement for graduate programs. This agreement allows a student to complete their thesis under the supervision of two advisors, one from each partner institution. The agreements generally result from established partnerships, in which there is a solid relationship of trust between the advisors and the institutions involved. Currently, PPGH has joint supervision agreements, enabling it to have a significant international impact.
  • International Doctoral Sandwich Program Abroad (Programa Institucional de Doutorado Sanduiche no Exterior – PDSE)
PDSE is an institutional program from CAPES with the objective of supporting the development of high-level human resources through the granting of sandwich doctoral scholarships to HEIs that have a doctoral program recognized by the federal system. With the aim of improving research, PPGH often selects students for research stays at institutions abroad.
  • Reverse Doctoral Sandwich Program (Programa Doutorado Sanduiche Reverso – PDSR)
PDSR, through the Dean’s Office of Graduate Studies and Research (Pró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa – PROPP), seeks to promote the internationalization of UFJF’s stricto sensu graduate studies by offering scholarships to foreign doctoral students for temporary stays in the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH). Through PDSR, PROPP will also seek to establish agreements that encourage the international exchange of doctoral students.
  • Announcement of rolling admissions to fill vacancies for foreign candidates (Master’s/PhD)
