Full Professor in the Department of History and the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – UFJF). Director of the Center for Memory Conservation (Centro de Conservação da Memória – Cecom/UFJF). General Director of Projects for the Brazilian Committee of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (Conselho Internacional de Monumentos e Sítios – ICOMOS – Brasil). PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Bahia (Universidade Federal da Bahia – UFBA), with postdoctoral research in Urbanism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ). He has experience in the areas of historic and cultural heritage, history of culture and history of architecture and urbanism, working mainly on the following topics: history and theory of the preservation of historic and cultural heritage, new approaches to and perspectives on historic and cultural heritage (both tangible and intangible), decolonization of historic and cultural heritage, policy and management of historic and cultural heritage, history of modernity, history of modern and contemporary architecture and urbanism, history of national and international exhibitions of industry and fine arts, architecture of immigration.
