Full Professor in the Department of History and the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – UFJF). CNPq Research Productivity Fellow – Level 1A. Associate Professor at and PhD in History from the Federal Fluminense University (Universidade Federal Fluminense – UFF), with postdoctoral research at the University System of Maryland, State University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp), Federal Fluminense University (Universidade Federal Fluminense – UFF), where she continues as an accredited member of the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH). She was a Visiting Professor at Columbia University (Ruth Cardoso Chair, Fulbright/CAPES), the Federal University of Pernambuco (Universidade Federal de Pernambuco – UFPE) (CNPq), the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the University of Michigan, the Centre international de recherches sur les esclavages et post-esclavages (CIRESC/CNRS), the Université Paris VII – Denis Diderot, the University of Chicago, Stanford University, the University of Santiago de Chile (Universidad de Santiago de Chile – Usach) and Georgetown University. Associate coordinator of the Laboratory of Oral History and Image (Laboratório de História Oral e Imagem – LABHOI UFF/UFJF) research network. She is also coordinator of the database and exhibits of the Past Presents Project (Projeto Passados Presentes), Memory of Slavery in Brazil (Memória da Escravidão no Brasil), as well as the tablet and mobile memory tourism applications for four sites: Pequena África; Quilombo do Bracuí, Quilombo São José and Jongo de Pinheiral (2017). She has experience in the area of history, with an emphasis on the history of Brazil, working mainly on the following topics: slavery, abolition, memory, video-history and oral history.
