Full Professor in the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – UFJF). CNPq Research Productivity Fellow – Level 1D and FAPEMIG Researcher. PhD in Social History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ) and postdoctoral research at Manchester Metropolitan University (United Kingdom), completed in 2008, and at the University of Lisbon (Universidade de Lisboa – ULisboa) and the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO), in 2016. Served as Dean of Research at UFJF (2002-2006). Visiting researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University (2007-2008), with support from CAPES, at Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa (2011-2013) and at ULisboa (2015, with support from CAPES). President of the Minas Gerais Regional Section of the National History Association (Associação Nacional de História, Minas Gerais – ANPUH-MG), 2012-2014. Coordinator of the ANPUH Political History Working Group (2015-2017). Coordinator of the PPGH at UFJF (2016-2018) and member of the National Board of Directors of the ANPUH (2017-2019). She is currently coordinator of the “Lusophone Connections: dictatorship and democracy in Portuguese” (“Conexões Lusófonas: ditadura e democracia em português“) international research network and a member of three other international research networks: The Right Wing, History and Memory (Direitas, História e Memória); International Network for Studies on Corporatism and the Organized Interests (NETCOR), and the Research Network for the Study of Fascisms, Authoritarianisms, Totalitarianisms, and transitions to democracy (REFAT). She has experience in the areas of political and social history, with an emphasis on the First Republic.
