Full Professor in the Department of History at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – UFJF) and Collaborating Professor in the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH). PhD in History from the State University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp), with postdoctoral research at Pablo de Olavide University (Universidad Pablo de Olavide – UPO) and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – UFMG). Researcher at the Center for the Social History of Politics (Núcleo de História Social da Política – NEHSP-UFJF) and the Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies (Centro de Estudos do Oitocentos – CEO-UFF). His research interests include political and cultural history of Portuguese America (late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries), history of modern sociabilities and freemasonry, history of Brazil (nineteenth century), and history of Minas Gerais (nineteenth century).
