Adjunct Professor in the Department of History and the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – UFJF). CNPq Productivity Fellow – Level 2. PhD in Sociology from the Institute for Social and Political Studies, Rio de Janeiro State University (Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – IESP-UERJ), with postdoctoral research at the Institute for Public Knowledge, New York University (IPK/NYU). Researcher at the Laboratory of Political and Social History (Laboratório de História Política e Social – LAHPS-UFJF) and Associate Researcher at the Laboratory of the History of the Present Time (Laboratório de História do Tempo Presente – LHTP-UFMG). He is a member of the following research networks: Lusophone Connections: dictatorship and democracy in Portuguese (Conexões Lusófonas: ditadura e democracia em português), the International Network for Studies on Corporatism and the Organized Interests (NETCOR), the International Network for the Study of Fascisms, Authoritarianisms, Totalitarianisms, and Transitions to Democracy (REFAT), The Right Wing, History and Memory (Direitas, História e Memória) and the Brazilian Network of Researchers of Sites of Memory and Conscience (Rede Brasileira de Pesquisadores de Sítios de Memória e Consciência – REBRAPESC). He was Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at UFJF and Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Minas Gerais State University (Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais – UEMG). He was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in History (Programa de Pós-Graduação em História – PPGH) at UFJF between 2018 and 2020. He has experience in the areas of history, sociology and political science, working mainly on the following topics: Brazil in the present time, democracy, culture and politics, cultural memory, public uses of the past, critical theory, and the public sphere. He is currently the Director of the Institute of Human Sciences (Instituto de Ciências Humanas – ICH) at UFJF.
