Full professor in the Department and Post-Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Research Productivity Fellow of CNPq – Level 1D. Doctor in History by the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). She was a fellow of the Getty Foundation at the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art in Paris (2003-2004). Received the CAPES Grand Prize for Florestan Fernandes Thesis in 2006 (awarded to the best thesis defended in 2005 in all major areas of Humanities, Applied Social Sciences and Linguistics, Letters and Arts). Post-doctoral internship at the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, Spain, at the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia-INAH, Mexico, as well as at UFRJ.
She has experience in the area of art history, working mainly on the following topics: History of art in Brazil in the 19th and early 20th centuries; History of art in the 19th century; Comparative studies in Art History; History and collection of the Mariano Procopio Museum.
