Required courses

REQUIRED FOR MASTER’S AND PhD DEGREES:

Teaching Internship I: The teaching practice, Teaching Internship I, is required for masters and PhDs students and candidates, and must be through participation in an Undergraduate course, under the supervision of a Program’s committee member.

 

REQUIRED FOR MASTERS DEGREE:

Master’s Seminars course: For Master’s students, the dissertation project will be presented and inquired in the Master’s Seminars course, which will preferably take place during the coursework first semester. In this seminar, students will present their research project to a panel composed of two professors, one from the Program and another external. The advisor is allowed to attend the presentation.

REQUIRED FOR PhD DEGREE: 

PhD seminars courses I and II:  The progress in the thesis proposal for PhD candidates, will be supervised and evaluated in the courses PhD seminars 1 and PhD seminars 2, which will take place, respectively, in the first and second year of coursework. In these courses, students are encouraged to present their research proposals to a panel composed of two professors (one from the Program and another external), exhibiting different moments and following their progress in the research project. The advisor is allowed to attend the presentation.

Teaching Internship II:  The PhD candidates must also attend to teaching internship II, which will be done by offering summer or winter courses.
