♦ Dr. Ademar Alves da Silva Filho

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1998) and Master (2001) and PhD (2006) in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Drugs and Medicines) from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FCFRP – USP) . During his doctorate, he did a Sandwich internship abroad (PDEE – Capes) at the National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR), Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Mississippi (Oxford, MS, USA). He is currently associate professor II at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. It has index H = 27 (ISI), H = 30 (Scopus), index i10 google = 64 (since 2015) and in recent years has published several full articles in specialized international journals, in the area of ​​chemistry and biological activity of natural products. Participated in the development of technological and innovation products, which resulted in the patents filed. He received awards and honors and coordinated the Young Researcher Program project in an emerging research center funded by FAPESP, also participating as a collaborator in several research aid projects. In his professional activities he interacted with several collaborators in co-authorship of scientific works. He is a member of the editorial board of a specialized international magazine and a reviewer of national and international journals. He is currently a member of the Graduate Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences (CAPES 4) and in Chemistry (CAPES 5) at UFJF. In addition, it collaborates and coordinates FAPEMIG, CNPq research projects and institutional subprojects CTINFRA / FINEP / UFJF, in addition to guiding and co-supervising PhD, Masters and scientific initiation students and supervising post-doctoral students in the areas of Chemistry and Activity biological of Natural Products, acting mainly in the following subjects: schistosomicidal, antiparasitic, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and bioprospecting and chemical activities of natural compounds.

♦ Dra. Ana Cláudia Chagas de Paula Ladvocat

Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). She holds a PhD (2015) in Sciences in the area of ​​Immunology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Part of the doctorate was held at the MRC Center for Developmental Neurobiology, Kings College London. Master in Sciences in the area of ​​Immunology at UFMG (2011). Graduated in Pharmacy – Clinical Analysis from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2009). She is currently the internship coordinator of the Pharmacy course (2018). She is an advisor for the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFJF) and for the Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Hospital Care and Adult Health with an emphasis on Chronic Degenerative Diseases – Clinical Analyzes (HU-UFJF). He is a member of the Ethics in Research Committees involving Human Beings (CEP HU-UFJF) and the use of animals (CEUA-UFJF). He has scientific experience in the area of ​​immunology, cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry, acting mainly on the following themes: mesenchymal and pluripotent stem cells and biomaterials for application in regenerative medicine; induced pluripotency stem cells and CRISPR genome editing, for modeling genetic diseases and evaluating pharmacological properties: anti-tumor, neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory.

♦ Dr. Ângelo Márcio Leite Denadai

Graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the Vale do Rio Doce University (1999), master’s degree in Agrochemistry from the Federal University of Viçosa (2002) and doctorate in Chemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2005). Has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry, acting mainly in the following branches: Nanotechnology, Colloidal Systems, Molecular Encapsulation and Intellectual Property.

 

♦ Dra. Elita Scio Fontes

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1986), Master in Agrochemistry from the Federal University of Viçosa (1992), PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology – Chemistry of Natural Products René Rachou Research Center (CPqRR) of the foundation Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ (2002) with a sandwich internship at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (CAPES-fulbright) (2001). She is currently Full Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Coordinator of the Laboratory of Natural Bioactive Products / ICB / UFJF, in addition to undergraduate students, she teaches master’s and doctoral students as a permanent professor in the Graduate Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Area of ​​Bioactive Natural Products, in which she served as vice-coordinator from 2013 to 2016, and in Sciences Biological – Genetics / Biotechnology Area, develops projects that are part of the research line “Chemical and pharmacological study of p bioactive lantas ”aiming at the use of bioactive plant extracts in the development of phytotherapic and / or cosmetic formulations, which resulted in deposited patents. She is a journal reviewer and author of scientific articles published in national and international journals. Has index H = 11. Has experience in the area of ​​Natural Products, with emphasis in the area of ​​Chemistry of Natural Bioactive Products acting mainly on the following themes: fractionation of bioactive plant extracts, isolation of active substances and evaluation of biological activities such as hypoglycemic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, healing, anti aging skin among others.

♦ Dra. Fernanda Maria Pinto Vilela

Graduation in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2007). Master of Science from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto? USP in the area of ​​concentration of Medicines and Cosmetics (2010). PhD in Sciences by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto – USP in the area of ​​concentration of Medicines and Cosmetics (2013). Conducting a PhD CNPq internship? Science Without Borders Program at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wi, USA (2012). She is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora – UFJF. He has experience in the Pharmacy area, with an emphasis on Analysis and Quality Control of Medicines and Cosmetics, working mainly in the following areas: development of formulations and analytical methods, photoprotection studies, photo-stability, skin penetration, experience in cell culture and in the area of Cellular and Molecular Biology.

 

♦ Dr. Frederico Pittella Silva

Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Post-doc by the Young Talents in Pharmacy program at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis (2013-2014). Post-doc in Medicine (Dep. Biotecnologia Clinica) at The University of Tokyo, Japan (2012). PhD in Bioengineering, with an emphasis on Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Tokyo, Japan (2011). Master in Biological Sciences (Genetics and Biotechnology) from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2008). Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2006). It operates in the design, preparation, development and application of nanocarriers for the treatment of cancer, through RNAi or small molecules. He has experience in the characterization of nanoparticles, polymeric micelles, nanopharmaceuticals, pharmacotechnics, formulation for dermal application, nanotoxicology, cytotoxicity, synthesis of copolymer blocks, molecular biology, real-time PCR, RNAi, siRNA, in vivo experiments.

 

♦ Dr. Giovanni Wilson Amarante

Associate Professor I, Department of Chemistry, Federal University of Juiz de Fora – UFJF. Since 2013, CNPq Level 2 Research Productivity Scholarship (PQ). Currently he is the Director of the Organic Chemistry Division (COD) of SBQ, biennium 2020-2022. He was the Director and Treasurer of the COD, in the bienniums 2018-2020 and 2016-2018, respectively. In 2017 he received the Young Chemistry Award for Young Authors and in 2018 the Young Investigator Distinction Award, granted by BMOS in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Associate Editor of Química Nova magazine and Member of the Editorial board of Current Catalysis and Current Organocatalysis magazines. Bachelor and Degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2000-2004) and Master in Chemistry from the same institution (2003-2005). PhD in Sciences – Organic Chemistry at the State University of Campinas (2005-2009). He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California at Berkeley – USA (2009-2010) under the supervision of Prof. F. Dean Toste and at LQOS-UNICAMP (09 / 2010-10 / 2010) under the supervision of Prof. Luiz Carlos Dias. He has experience in the area of ​​Chemistry, with emphasis on the development of methodologies, mechanisms of organic reactions and total syntheses. He was a member of the organizing committee of the 15th and 16th Brazilian Meeting on Organic Synthesis (BMOS), of the V and VII Superior School in Organic Synthesis (ESSO) and of the XXXII ERSBQ-MG in Juiz de Fora. ♦ Dr. Ítalo Tuler Perrone

Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences – Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). ♦ Dr. José Otávio do Amaral Corrêa

PhD in Pathology (UFF / Niterói), Master of Science (FIOCRUZ / RJ) and Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Acting as Associate Professor I at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. In Education, an INEP / MEC evaluator, with experience in evaluating undergraduate and institutional courses, he served as a member of the INEP / MEC Technical Monitoring Committee for Evaluation of the Pharmacy area at CTAA / MEC (2013-2015). He was Director of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UFJF (2014-2018). He was also Coordinator of the Pharmacy course at UFJF 2012 to 2014 and teaches the disciplines of Biochemistry applied to Clinical Analyzes and Immunology applied to Clinical Analyzes. As an extension, he works at the Clinical Analysis Laboratory of the University Hospital and worked at the UFJF University Pharmacy. Internship advisor and tutor in residency in clinical analysis at the University Hospital of the same Institution. In the strictu sensu postgraduate course, he acts as a permanent member of the Nucleus for Research in Immunopathology and Clinical Immunology of the Graduate Program in Brazilian Health (master’s and doctorate) – (Faculty of Medicine) and also a Permanent Member of the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Master and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences). He has experience in the field of cellular immunology, immunopharmacology and clinical biochemistry.

 

♦ Dr. Marcone Augusto Leal de Oliveira

Graduated in Bachelor of Chemistry (1999) and Bachelor of Philosophy (2019), specialization in Statistics (2004), MBA in Business and Entrepreneurship (2014) from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (2003) and post-doctorate in Chemometrics by the State University of Campinas (2008). He is currently Associate Professor IV in the Chemistry Department at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He acts as a reviewer for the journal Química Nova, Journal of the Brazillian Chemical Society, Analytical Chemistry, Talanta, Analytical Methods, Electrophoresis, Journal of Chromatography A, etc. in the following subjects: development and optimization of methods by capillary electrophoresis (CE-UV-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-UV-MS) and gas chromatography (GC-FID-MS) for food analysis applications ( fatty acids, sugars, recreational drinks), drugs, biofuels, oil and environment (ions), in addition to conducting research involving the preparation of new monolithic stationary phases for use in EC and nano-LC. It uses chemometric methods for the design of experiments, organization and statistical analysis of data. Provides assistance to development agencies such as CNPq, CAPES and FAPESP and is a member of INCT-Bioanalítica (National Institute of Science and Technology in Bionalitics).

 

♦ Dra. Maria Silvana Alves

Graduated in Pharmacy and in Biochemistry and Residency (Specialization) in Clinical Analysis from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Master in Pharmacy (Pathophysiology and Toxicology) from the University of São Paulo and PhD in Sciences (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro , with sandwich period at the School of Public Health, University of California at Berkeley, USA, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lee Woodland Riley. She is Associate Professor IV in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Undergraduate, he works in the Pharmacy Course, being responsible for the discipline Biosafety since October 2006 and co-responsible for the discipline Oriented Activity I – Pharmaceutical Diagnosis in Health since August 2017, having taught the discipline Applied Microbiology to Clinical Analyzes and worked in the Internship in Clinical Analysis I in the period from February 1992 to February 2003, and also guides Course Completion Works and Scientific Initiation projects Young Talents-CAPES, PIBIC-CNPq, BIC-UFJF and VIC-UFJF. In the Graduate Program, she participates in the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences of this Institution since its recommendation in 2010, being one of those responsible for preparing the proposal for its creation and Coordination in the period from July 2010 to July 2013 (Vice-Coordinator ) and from July 2013 to July 2016 (Coordinator). Still, she is the Local Coordinator, approved by the Unit Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy, for establishing international cooperation (Term of International Cooperation Agreement between UFJF and UMinho in March / 2016 and between UFJF and University of Madeira in January / 2019); and teaches disciplines, mentors students, participates in research groups and coordinates projects and studies developed at the Cellular and Molecular Bioactivity Laboratory located at the Pharmaceutical Research Center of this Faculty. She is a member of the editorial board and reviewer of journals and the author of chapters of international books and scientific articles published in national and international journals. He has experience in the fields of Medical and Applied Microbiology and in the Pharmacology of Natural Products, acting mainly on the following themes: phenotypic and molecular characterization of routine bacterial strains, molecular epidemiology of bacterial infections, investigation of mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobials and studies of biological and pharmacological activities of bioactive natural products, with emphasis on the investigation of the antibiotic effect of special metabolites, aiming at the application of prototypes of new herbal medicines or traditional herbal products, developing formulations and pharmaceutical forms that can be transferred in the public-private relationship.

 

♦ Dra. Mírian Pereira Rodarte

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Master in Agricultural Microbiology from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) and Doctorate in Food Science from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA). She works mainly in the following areas: Industrial fermentation processes, Biotechnology, Food biochemistry, Nutrition and Health. Associate professor II at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Professor of the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Graduate Program in Science and Technology of Milk and Derivatives. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Science and Technology of Milk and Derivatives.

♦ Dr. Orlando Vieira de Sousa

Pharmaceutical-Biochemical by the Federal University of Maranhão. Specialist in Immunology (Federal University of Maranhão) and Pharmacology (Federal University of Lavras). Master in Biological Sciences (Biophysics / Pharmacology) and Doctor in Plant Biotechnology (Bioprospecting / Technology of Processes and Products) by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He completed an internship at the Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory through an agreement signed between UFMA / University of Maryland (School of Medicine) / UFRJ. Associate Professor IV of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Diagnosis in Health, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Current Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Master and Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences) in the 2019-2022 management. He is accredited in this Program and teaches the subjects of Advanced Topics in Pharmacology, Special Topics in Phytotherapy and Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology. He is head of the Biomedicinal Chemistry and Applied Pharmacology Laboratory. Has a research line in the areas of Bioprospecting (Chemistry and Pharmacology) and Technology of Processes and Natural and Synthetic Products, acting in the quantification and identification of substances found in biodiversity and from organic synthesis, biological and pharmacological activities in vitro, in vivo and in silico and innovative process technology and products for health with patent deposits.

 

♦ Dra. Priscila de Faria Pinto

PhD in Sciences (Infectious and Parasitic Diseases) from CPqRR / FIOCRUZ / MG, Master in Cellular and Molecular Biology from IOC / FIOCRUZ / RJ and graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. She is currently Adjunct Professor at the Department of Biochemistry at UFJF in the City of Juiz de Fora. Postgraduate researcher and advisor by the program of the Faculty of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Sciences) and by the Institute of Biological Sciences (Infectious-Parasitic Disease). At graduation, he teaches the contents of Structural and Metabolic Biochemistry for Dentistry and Chemistry (EAD) courses. Has experience in Biochemistry, with an emphasis on Biochemistry of macromolecules, acting mainly on the following topics: purification of proteins of plant origin; study of the family of ATP diphosphohydrolases from parasites and analysis of molecular markers for parasitic infectious diseases and search for molecules of synthetic and vegetal origin with schistosomicidal action.

♦ Dr. Rodrigo Luiz Fabri

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) (2006) and Master (2006-2008) / Doctorate (2011-2013) in Biological Sciences (concentration area: Genetics and Biotechnology) from the same institution. He is currently Chief and Adjunct Professor of the Department of Biochemistry at UFJF teaching the Basic Biochemistry discipline for the Veterinary Medicine course. Guides undergraduate students in the modalities of monitoring, professional training and scientific initiation and, stricto sensu graduate students. He is part of the faculty of the Academic Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPGCF) and the Professional Master in Biology Teaching (PROFBIO) at UFJF. He has experience in the field of Natural Products, with an emphasis on Chemistry and Pharmacology of Bioactive Natural Products, acting mainly in: (i) preparation, extraction and fractionation of plant extracts, (ii) isolation and elucidation of biative substances, (iii) standardization of extracts by HPLC / DAD, (iv) chemical characterization of extracts by CG / MS and UPLC-QTOF-MS and (v) evaluation of biological activities (cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, antimicrobial and antioxidant). In addition, he also works in the Biochemistry area, on the following topics: (i) dosing of antioxidant enzymes, (ii) analysis of biochemical and hematological parameters in in vivo tests, and (iii) lipid characterization of biological samples.

 

♦ Dra. Valquíria Pereira de Medeiros

Valquíria Pereira de Medeiros has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2000), a master’s degree in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2003), a PhD in Biological Sciences – Molecular Biology from the Federal University of São Paulo ( 2008). He is currently an adjunct professor of Biochemistry I at the Biochemistry Department of the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) (2012). Academic training took place in the area of ​​Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology, working mainly on the following subjects sulfated polysaccharides of brown algae (fucanas), molecular and cellular biology of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. His works are related to the extraction, isolation and chemical characterization of sulfated polysaccharides and the involvement of these compounds in biological activities such as anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, action on the vascular endothelium, antithrombotic and anti-hemostatic activity and the participation of these compounds in cell signaling pathways. Also carrying out works analyzing the behavior of components of the extracellular matrix against pathologies, therapeutic techniques and interaction of polymers such as sulfated polysaccharides with elements of the extracellular matrix.
