In activity since beggins of 2009, our group of researchers is mainly interested in the synthesis of metal-organic complexes with silver(I), zinc(II) and gold(I)/(III) ions and its biological activities. The ligands have been obtained by condensation reaction between aliphatic and aromatic amines, sulphonamides and amino acids, isoniazid, pyraminazide, nicotinamide and so on with natural aldehydes. In addition, our team found x-ray powder diffraction skills a great tool for solving and refining crystal structure models for material with unknown structures. Likewise, measurements and analysis of phase identification and quantification are provided by our research group. We are situated in the Department of Material Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora.
