I Workshop on Cardiac Digital Twins

The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) will host the First Workshop on Cardiac Digital Twins on September 10th, from 08:30 to 16:00, at the Institute of Exact Sciences (ICE) Auditorium – Reuni Building. The event is free of charge and open to the public, with no registration required.

The workshop will bring together national and international experts in computational modeling of cardiac function. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Julià Camps (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona), Dr. Joventino Oliveira Campos (UFJF, Juiz de Fora), and Dr. Lucas Arantes Berg (University of Oxford, Oxford).

The program features keynote talks, oral and poster presentations, as well as practical sessions. Topics include the development and application of digital twins of the heart, computational pipelines for personalized heart modeling, arrhythmia studies, and advanced electrophysiology simulations.

Highlights of the schedule:

  • Opening Talks on digital twins of the heart and clinical applications.
  • Poster and Oral Presentations by graduate students and researchers, covering fibrosis modeling, arrhythmia analysis, and surrogate models.
  • Hands-on Sessions, including an introduction to MonoAlg3D and practical training on digital twins.
  • Networking Opportunities, with a coffee break and a social “Happy Hour – Arrítmicos do Samba” at the end of the day.

The event is organized by the Graduate Program in Computational Modeling (PGMC/UFJF) and the Computational Physiology and High-Perfomance Computing Laboratory (FisioComp), with support from CNPq.

This workshop represents an opportunity for students, researchers, and health professionals to engage with the latest advances in computational cardiology and digital twin technologies.
