During the days 09-12 of September, 2025, the National Laboratory of Scientic Computing (LNCC), located in the city of Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, will host the XIX Workshop on Partial Differential Equations – WPDE2025. One of the main goals of the Workshop is to promote, encourage and bring together the interaction between theoretical and applied scientists to establish an interdisciplinary forum to discuss recent developments and results. We hope to create an environment capable of providing fruitful and promising interchange and discussions among the participants on the intriguing and challenging problems in Partial Dierential Equations.
This year’s event will feature a special session on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Valéria Neves D. Cavalcanti and to honor her distinguished academic career and excellent contributions to the field of partial differential equations.
Short Biography
Professor Valéria Neves D. Cavalcanti possess Bachelor degree in Mathematics (1986), Master’s degree in Mathematics (1988) and a PhD in Mathematics (1995) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ. Actually, she is a Full Professor at the State University of Maringá working in the field of Analysis, with emphasis on Partial Differential Equations, researching mainly on the following topics: stabilization of hyperbolic systems, nonlinear equations, and viscoelastic problems.
