The International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment, in partnership with the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, and the United Nations Environment Program, encourages regional events (SBE Conference Series is the world’s premier) that aim to provide a forum to present and discuss regional, national and international issues, challenges and opportunities among interested parties regarding the latest developments and trends in research, tools, guidelines and experience relevant to the sustainable construction sector to enable a more consolidated and uniform integration on the topic. In this sense: UFJF, UFMG, UFOP, and Minho University, seek to implement research and extension projects to ensure, for Engineering, circularity in their production processes, enabling the reduction of waste generation and its recycling, minimize impacts on the environment as well as implement technological innovations in favor of sustainable development, in addition to generating resources and income for companies and the local community, enabling the strengthening of the concept of circular economy. The organization of a scientific event, inserted in the global context, will greatly contribute to the strengthening of research and/or extension projects developed in Brazilian territory and their internalization, as well as strengthening the BE IN research network (Built Environment International Network).
