There has been massive investment from funding agencies features such as Capes, Fapemig, Finep and UFJF. These funds were allocated to laboratory equipment for the research groups and also to scholarships and resources for the execution of research projects.
The research groups have laboratories ready to develop the thesis and dissertations of the Postgraduate program in Health Sciences. An important factor is the large number of projects that are the result of collaborative networks between research groups.
In 2013, with investments of 2 million BRL, the IMUNOCET (Mobile Technology Center and Applied Immunology) was opened. It is a research center linked to the Institute of Biological Sciences – UFJF, aiming to develop scientific research in the fields of immunology and transplantation involving stem cell and regenerative medicine. With the Imunocet, UFJF becomes one of the first universities in Brazil to have a cryopreservation laboratory – specialized in cell therapy. Professor Henry C. Teixeira is one of those responsible for this new Research Center, where the teacher Abrahão Halack Neto also works.
