Foreign students

The admission of foreign students happens in two ways:

1-    Admission exclusive for foreign students:

In the case of foreign students, the first contact should be made with the applicant’s desired supervising professor, preferably the result of international collaborations with this professor.

After the contact, the applicant will participate in the entry process, which consists of:

  1. the presentation of a research project in either Portuguese, Spanish or English.
  2. Acceptance letter from the supervising professor (signed).
  3. In the case of applicants whose native language is one other than Portuguese, Spanish or English, evidence of proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS, ESOL, GRE) is required.

In the case of project approval and having the other criteria been met, the applicant will undergo an interview with a panel designated by the executive committee of the program. The interview will be in person, if possible, or by videoconference.

2-    Admission via PEC-PG – Student Program – Graduate Agreement – Further information: (http://www.capes.gov.br/cooperacao-internacional/multinacional/pec-pg).
