On November 7th and 8th, 2019, the 2nd Scientific and Technological Forum in Dentistry of Juiz de Fora was held, promoted by the Graduate Program in Dentistry at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. The creation of the forum had as its primary intention the development and expansion of actions in science and technology developed by the Program and its partnerships. These actions included: advancing in teaching, education and training methodologies for the dissemination and communication of scientific data, actions in innovation and technology through the acquisition of grants, corporation and university relationship and public and private networks, allowing the interaction of students, professors, and others.

As secondary objectives, there was also updating and guidance on the regulatory models with a lecture of the current coordinator of the area of Dentistry at Capes, Dr. Altair Antoninha Del Bel Cury (FOP-UNICAMP). It is also important to highlight the interaction with other research centers and Universities due to lectures of Dr Carolina de Castro Martins (Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG), Dr Marco Aurelio de Carvalho (Federal University of Goiás – UFG), Dr Laercio Almeida de Melo (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte – UFRN), Plinio Mendes Senna (State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ), and the interaction with other researchers of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora due to lectures of Dr. Juciane Maria de Andrade Castro, from the Immunology Department of the Institute of Biological Sciences, that resulted in new partnership, and Dr. Flavia Bastos, from Mechanical Engineering School, that resulted in co-supervisions of two Master Degree Dissertations. It was also presented a lecture by Aline Couto, a PPGO alumnus currently a doctoral student at UFMG.

Approximately 300 people attended the event and 180 posters were presented in the categories: Scientific Research, Clinical Conference and Literary Reviews. The posters were evaluated by two reviewers, which were professors, alumnus or graduate students. As a result, it was possible to establish connections with different researchers in different areas, enabling the discussion of ideas and methodologies for research development. It was evident during the event the importance of creating a network of contacts for students and professors with other researchers.
