Professor Cássia de Castro Martins Ferreira, PhD  ORCID

Graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1991), Master’s Degree in Agronomy (Agricultural Meteorology) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1996) and Doctorate in Geography (Physical Geography) from the University of São Paulo (2002). She is currently an associate professor III at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. She has experience in Geosciences with an emphasis on Climatology, studying the following topics: urban biogeography, green areas up urban, geoprocessing and geographic information systems.

Prof. Dr. Fabio de Oliveira Sanches, PhD  ORCID

PhD in Geography (2013) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Master in Environmental Sciences (2002) from the University of Taubaté (UNITAU). Graduated in Geography (1996) from the University of Sorocaba (UNISO). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). He conducts research in climatology (climate variability, climate change and extreme events). He conducts research on the influence of artificial lakes (Hydropower Plant-HPP) and water reservoirs in the local weather (microclimate). At the Brazilian Association of Climatology (ABClima in Portuguese), he was Director-Secretary (2014-2016), President-Director (2016-2018) and, currently, he is a member of the Deliberative Council (2018-2020).

Professor Geraldo César Rocha, PhD ORCID

He holds a degree in Geology from the University of São Paulo (1976), Master in Agronomy (Soil: Genesis and Morphology) from the Federal University of Lavras (1982) and PhD in Agronomy (Soil: Mineralogy and Chemistry) from the University of São Paulo and INRA ( France, 1990). He did his Postdoctorate at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1997), researching weathering profiles in risk areas of the city. He is specialized in Risk Management and Environmental Disasters (Sweden and Costa Rica). He has experience in Geosciences with an emphasis on Geology, Pedology and Environmental Risks. He is an associate professor in the Department of Geosciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, serving the Master’s Program in Geography by teaching Assessment and Environmental Risk Management. After the research internship about organic carbon in China (NEIGAE/Harbin), he has worked with research on forms of carbon in the soil. He studies mainly the following areas: assessment and monitoring of environmental risks, EIA/RIMA (physical environment), geoprocessing, the Ibitipoca region, the Juiz de Fora region, risk mapping and environmental disasters in urban and rural areas, in addition to carbon in terrestrial ecosystems.

Professor Miguel Fernandes Felippe, PhD  ORCID

PhD in Geography and Environmental Analysis (IGC-UFMG). Leader of the research group TERRA – Special Issues Related to Relief and Water (UFJF-CNPq). He works with the interface between Geomorphology, Hydrology and Hydrogeology, developing research and extension projects in the areas of Hydrogeomorphology, Fluvial Geomorphology, Environmental Geomorphology and Water Resources. He has extensive academic experience in the theme of springs of water courses, supported methodologically by field measurement techniques, and morphometric, hydrogeochemical and radioisotope analyzes.

Professor Ricardo Tavares Zaidan, PhD ORCID

Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from UFJF (1999); Specialist in Environmental Management in Municipalities (GAM) UFJF (2000); Master of Environmental Science and Forestry (FHH) from UFRRJ (2002) and PhD in Geography from UFRJ (2006). He has experience in GIS applied to physical geography and geomorphology, with emphasis on methods and techniques for zoning and analysis of susceptibility and landslide risks on slopes, mainly on the following themes: environmental analysis, environment, conservation areas, mapping of geomorphological processes, GIS and remote sensing.

Professor Roberto Marques Neto, PhD  ORCID

He holds a BA in Geography from the State Paulista University Julio de Mesquita Filho (2005), full degree in Geography from the State Paulista University Julio de Mesquita Filho (2005), specialization in Physical Geography of Brazil from State Paulista University Julio de Mesquita Filho (2006 ), Master in Geography from the State Paulista University Julio de Mesquita Filho (2007), PhD in Geography from the State Paulista University Julio de Mesquita Filho (2012) and postdoctorate from Unicamp. He is a professor in the Department of Geosciences and the Program of Graduate Studies in Geography, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, and has experience in the field of Geography and Geosciences with an emphasis on Geomorphology Structural and Quaternary Environmental Geomorphology, Biogeography and Geoecology, studying the following topics: neotectonics, geomorphic surfaces, geosystems, continental Quaternary terrain mapping and biogeography of rock fields and highland regions.

Associate professor of the Geosciences Department of the Institute of Human Sciences at UFJF. Permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Geography at UFJF. Permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Education at UFJF. Deputy leader of the CNPq Research Group Landscape Studies. Deputy leader of the Center for Research in Education, Science, Mathematics and Technology – NEC/UFJF. Coordinator of GEA/NEC – Group of Environmental Education. He is currently a professor in the Department of Tourism and permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Geography at UFJF. Coordinator of Research Center of Tourism, Territory and social environmental development, develops academic and university extension studies with emphasis on: Geography of tourism; Territorial Planning and Protected Areas; Ecotourism; Social environmental, Rural and Community Development.

Professor Bruno Milanez, PhD  ORCID

Graduated in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1999), Master in Urban Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (2002) and PhD in Environmental Policy – Lincoln University (2006). He is currently Professor at the Graduate Program in Geography and the Department of Production and Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He has experience in Environmental Policy, studying the following topics: assessment of the impacts of mining and metallurgy, environmental conflicts and environmental capacity.

PhD in Geography from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF, 2013), MA in Geography from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF, 2007), Teaching and Bachelor’s degrees in Geography from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF, 2003/2004). He is currently a professor in the Department of Geosciences and in the Graduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Researcher in the Research Center of Geography, Space and Action of UFJF (NuGea). He develops academic and university extension studies with emphasis on: 1. Epistemology, ontology and theory of geography; 2. Corporeality, work and creation of the geographical space.

Prof. Dr. Guilherme Augusto Pereira Malta, PhD  ORCID

Professor Maria Lúcia Pires Menezes, PhD  ORCID

Degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1980), Master in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1990) and PhD in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Universitat de Barcelona (2002) and Postdoctoral Internship at the Universitat de Barcelona (2013-2014). She is currently an associate professor IV at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. She has experience in Geography, with emphasis on human Geography, studying mainly the following topics: Amazon, borders, cities of Brazil, indigenous lands and territories, production space, public space, social movements, planning and land management.
