Eles são fáceis de serem encontrados. Vestem camisa verde-limão, destacada entre o vermelho do uniforme chinês na pista de atletismo. Atentos, 162 alunos da Faculdade de Educação Física e Desportos da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (Faefid/UFJF) têm a oportunidade de acompanhar o desenvolvimento de técnicas para esportistas de alto nível de rendimento e auxiliar na organização de treinos.

A UFJF recebe cerca de 340 atletas e integrantes da comissão técnica de oito países que se preparam na instituição para os Jogos Olímpicos Rio 2016. E em todos os dias de treino, os estudantes colaboram para a preparação da pista de atletismo, para a organização de materiais e conhecem estratégias de treinamento aplicadas pelos técnicos. Além de outras atividades, colaboram também na orientação do público espectador e no controle de acesso aos locais de treinamento.
A observação atenta de cada um torna mais fácil a assimilação do que é ensinado e discutido, em sala de aula, conforme o coordenador do projeto de voluntários na Faefid, professor Heglison Toledo, que tem recebido retorno positivo sobre a atuação dos estudantes. “Vários alunos estão vibrando com essa experiência. A procura por participar como voluntário foi muito significativa, uma surpresa positiva para nós. E agora o trabalho está sendo muito bem executado.”
Aprendizado fora de sala
O aluno Joedson Pinto, que atua na pista de atletismo, ressalta que sua presença durante os treinos será importante para o desempenho dele no projeto Servidor Saudável, que orienta professores e técnico-administrativos em educação da UFJF em caminhada e corrida.
“Com a vinda dos atletas teremos a experiência de ter a vivência em si, de ver na prática o que aprendemos em sala de aula. É muito importante para a graduação”, destacou o aluno.
A oportunidade de contato com o mais alto nível do esporte também é evidenciado pelo voluntário Marcos Paulo e pelo presidente do Diretório Acadêmico da Faefid, Walber Silva. Conforme o dirigente, a faculdade dificilmente terá a chance de receber tantos atletas de tamanha magnitude novamente, mas que os alunos estão mobilizados para novas oportunidades.

Silva apontou que há união na faculdade a fim de proporcionar situações como esta e que mesmo os alunos que não estão cadastrados como voluntários têm a chance de se aprimorar neste período.
Mais iniciativas
Além de Educação Física, os cursos de Jornalismo, Turismo e Psicologia estão envolvidos no projeto UFJF 2016, assim como as diretorias de Imagem Institucional e de Relações Internacionais, abarcando mais de 300 alunos.
Cursos de Moda, Engenharia de Produção, Medicina e Fisioterapia também apresentaram propostas de atividades para serem realizadas ao longo dos treinamentos.
Physical Education students highlight the opportunity to learn with athletes’ training
They are easy to be found. They wear a lime green T-shirt, that glows among the red Chinese uniforms in the athletics track. Ever alert, 162 students of the School of Physical Education and Sports (Faefid/UFJF) have the opportunity to follow the development of the techniques employed by the high performance athletes and, then, help in the organization of the trainings.
The University welcomes about 340 athletes and technical committee members from eight countries. They are preparing for the Olympic Games Rio 2016. Every training day, the students collaborate for the preparation of the athletics track, the organization of their material and learn the training strategies used by the coaches. Besides other activities, they also help to guide visitor and are in charge or controlling the access to training facilities.
Learning outside the classroom
The student Joedson Pinto, who works at the athletics track, emphasizes that his presence during the trainings will be important to his performance in the project “Healthy Public Servant”, which guides the university’s professors and administrative technicians in walking and running.
“With the athletes here, we will be able to see and experience what we have learned in the classroom. It is very important to the graduation”, highlighted the student.
The opportunity of being in touch with the highest level of sport is also evidenced by the student Marcos Paulo and by the president of the Academic Directory of Faefid, Walber Silva, who stated that they will hardly have the chance to receive so many athletes of such magnitude again, although the students are prepared for new opportunities.
Silva pointed out that there is a great commitment in the school in order to provide situations as this and that even the students who are not working as volunteers have the chance to improve themselves during this period.
More Initiatives
Besides Physical Education, the Journalism, Tourism and Psychology courses are involved in the project UFJF 2016, as well as the offices of Institutional Image and the International Office, including over 300 students.
The courses of Fashion, Production Engineering, Medicine and Physiotherapy also presented projects of activities to be accomplished during the trainings.
