He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Viçosa (1992), a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997), and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2007). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He has experience in Mathematics, with emphasis on Applied Mathematics, working mainly on the following topics: nonlinear complementarity problems, interior-point algorithms, feasible direction algorithms, variational inequalities, and fractional calculus.
