Indigenous Comparative Literature: Brazil and Canada

Focus: Modern Languages

This course presents Indigenous texts written by women in Canada and in Brazil. It explores the foundations of Indigenous feminist theories, and considers multiple intersections of gender, race, indigeneity, patriarchy, and settler colonialism, considering the different contexts of the Indigenous texts produced by these women, and underlining the specificities of the historical processes, and the historical narratives of these countries.
