SCORAI is the main knowledge network of professionals and scholars from many countries working at the interface of material consumption, human well-being, environmental progress, and technological and cultural change, aiming to foster a transition beyond the dominant consumer society.
SCORAI’s agenda priorities includes:
- Understanding the conditions and determinants of the current consumer economy model in developed and emerging societies;
- Identifying and analyzing alternatives to high consumption lifestyles, as well as the institutional and systemic reengineering needed in order to enable a transition to a sustainable model of consumption and production;
- Encouraging the production of knowledge to inform and improve existing grassroots innovations, social movements and public policies oriented towards sustainability.
SCORAI Brazil is one of the five regional branches of SCORAI around the world, aiming at bringing together researchers and professionals who work in sustainable consumption and production issues in Brazil.
